Apprentice Electrician

Our Apprentices are the future of our business. On our 54-month Apprenticeship programme you will learn the skills to become a successful Electrician with a fantastic range of future career options ahead of you.  With the current levels of advancement in technology, there could not be a more exciting time to join us and following successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be offered a permanent role, with one of the best rental equipment providers in the industry.

On a daily basis you’ll work within one of our service centres where you will learn to:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in the portable accommodation units within our range
• Test and inspect portable building and accommodation units
• Assess installations to ensure they meet the correct operational and safety guidelines
• Deliver electrical refurbishment on any cabins, whether depot based or on-site installations
• Diagnose and rectify faults
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive service records
• Develop in-depth product knowledge
• Build excellent working relationships with customers and understand their business needs and requirements
• Become an ambassador for our “Customer First” culture, resolving any issues quickly and keeping your colleagues and customers informed, so they feel truly valued
• Expand your team working skills with your colleagues and the wider Sunbelt Rentals team
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines as part of a varied workday in a fast-paced operational environment

We’ll provide you with a comprehensive company induction, role-specific training, and apprenticeship support. You will become a part of a larger apprentice cohort where you will be able to form lifelong relationships and engage in a wider support network.

We’ll also support your personal growth and development in line with your Sunbelt Rentals career aspirations.  You will attend both in-house and manufacturer courses to expand your product knowledge and skills. Opportunities for progression to higher level qualifications or to work in additional business units are also possible once qualified.

Apprenticeship Training

You will be completing a level 3 Installation Electrician and Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship Standard. This will be delivered using a combination of;

• Workplace experience to gain practical skills
• Guidance and training from an experienced workplace mentor
• Industry recognised training leading to an apprenticeship qualification. You will travel to attend the course at a training centre, which may involve some overnight stays and the requirement to travel outside of your normal working hours

• At least five GCSEs or equivalent at Grade 4 or above including Maths and English
